Unfair Parking Tickets
If you feel that you have been issued an unfair parking ticket then there are a few things you can do to get justice. First of all, get as much evidence as you can - time and date, photographs and a witness (if possible) - then contest the ticket in writing to the council. Don't forget to keep photocopies of everything you send to them.
Should you get no joy with the council the next step is to contact the independent appeals service (020) 7747 4700. Do not worry about threats of legal action from the council and do not argue with the traffic warden.

Excess Baggage
All licensed taxi drivers, while wishing to be helpful, have encountered the occasion when a prospective passenger is carrying an excessive amount of baggage. This can happen at an hotel, station or airport terminal.  A licensed taxi driver can be faced with a predicament if his/her taxi will not accommodate his/her passenger’s baggage. The following section from the London Cab Order should give the reader peace of mind:
London Cab Order
(Carrying of Luggage)
Section 41 (3)
'Nothing in this paragraph shall compel the driver of a motor cab to permit the carriage inside the cab of any article or animal which is of such bulk or amount or character that the carrying of such article or animal, or its placing in or removal from the cab, would be likely to cause damage to the cab or its fittings’.
